Xero accounting services

Xero Accounting Services

Your Xero setup, done right.

Many small businesses are paying for Xero but not getting much out of it — miscategorised transactions, stale data, and reports that do not quite tell them what they need to know. Hasan Mahmood is an ACCA Chartered Certified Accountant who manages Xero properly, from initial setup to monthly reconciliation. Fixed monthly fee. Same-day replies.

  • Xero configured correctly for your specific business from day one
  • Reconciled books every month — no year-end scramble
  • Reports you can actually read and use to make decisions
  • Your VAT, payroll and tax obligations visible well in advance

No long-term contract. If it is not working after three months, you leave with clean, exportable books and nothing owed.

Sound familiar?

Paying for Xero but not sure it is working?

Xero is a capable piece of software. The issue is usually that it was set up in a hurry, or by someone who did not quite understand the business — and it has been drifting ever since. Transactions sit uncategorised. The bank feed falls behind. And when you open the profit and loss report, the numbers do not match what you actually feel is happening. That is not a Xero problem. It is a setup and maintenance problem.

  • Transactions piling up uncategorised because nobody is keeping on top of it
  • VAT return time becomes a last-minute scramble through months of unreconciled data
  • Xero reports that look busy but tell you nothing useful about your actual position

What a well-managed Xero looks like

When Xero is set up for your business and maintained properly, the numbers stay current. You know what you owe and what you are owed. Tax deadlines stop being a surprise. The reports make sense.

  • Transactions categorised correctly and consistently — books that reflect reality
  • VAT return prepared from clean, current data with no last-minute panic
  • Reports configured to show what actually matters in your business
  • Fixed monthly fee covering everything — no invoice surprise at year end

What you get

Everything your Xero account actually needs

A complete Xero service covering setup, ongoing maintenance, and the compliance tasks that flow from it — all for a fixed monthly fee agreed upfront.

01

Xero Setup and Configuration

Your chart of accounts, bank feeds, VAT settings, and tracking categories configured for your business — not a generic template. Getting this right at the start saves considerable time and confusion later. If you are switching from another system, data migration is handled as part of the process.

Included as standard
02

Monthly Bookkeeping and Reconciliation

Transactions reviewed, categorised, and reconciled each month so the books stay current. Your Xero dashboard reflects where the business actually stands — not where it stood three months ago. VAT returns are prepared directly from this data, with no last-minute archaeology.

Ongoing support
03

Reporting You Can Read

Monthly management reports in plain English — profit and loss, cash position, and any figures that matter specifically to your business. The goal is that you understand your numbers without needing to ask. Year-end accounts and corporation tax or self assessment filing are included where relevant to your structure.

What clients say

Why Edward Harris

Why this is not the same as just buying Xero

Xero is a tool. What you are actually buying is an accountant who knows how to use it for your specific business, keeps it maintained, and tells you what the numbers mean.

⚙️

Set Up for Your Business

Generic Xero setups cause ongoing problems — wrong VAT codes, categories that do not reflect how the business actually works, bank rules that misfile transactions. Your Xero is configured from scratch around your structure, your industry, and your specific compliance requirements. That configuration is documented and maintained.

📅

Books That Stay Current

Monthly bookkeeping means the data is always up to date. VAT returns are prepared from clean figures rather than a rushed catch-up. Year-end takes considerably less time because the year was not left to sort itself out. Surprises are largely avoidable when the books are current.

💬

Questions Answered the Day You Ask

Clients reach Hasan by phone, email, or WhatsApp and get a response the same day. If your Xero shows something you do not understand, or you want to know what a number means before acting on it, that question does not sit in a queue for a week. Which is, frankly, the way it should be.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

Most clients are fully onboarded within a week. The process is designed so the majority of the work sits with us, not you.

1

A free initial conversation

Call, email, or use the contact form and we will reply the same day. There is no obligation and nothing to prepare beforehand. We discuss your current setup, what is working, and what is not.

2

We review your current Xero

If you already have Xero, we review the existing setup and identify what needs correcting. If you are starting fresh, we set up your account from scratch. Either way, you will know exactly what is being done and why before anything changes.

3

Onboarding and handover

We handle the data migration, chart of accounts configuration, bank feed connections, and any catch-up bookkeeping needed. You provide access and answer a few questions about how the business works. The heavy lifting is ours.

4

Clean books, every month

From that point, Xero is maintained monthly. VAT returns, payroll, and compliance deadlines are tracked proactively. You open Xero and it reflects reality — your tax position is visible, your figures make sense, and the next deadline is already being handled.

Questions

A few things people usually ask

Do you set up Xero from scratch, or can you take over an existing account?+

Both are straightforward. If you are new to Xero, the account is set up with a chart of accounts and bank feeds configured for your business type. If you already have Xero, we review what is there, correct any structural issues, and bring the bookkeeping up to date before moving into ongoing monthly maintenance. There is no requirement to start again.

What is included in the monthly fee, and how is it priced?+

Pricing is fixed and agreed before anything starts — no hourly rates and no invoices arriving at unexpected moments. The monthly fee covers Xero maintenance, bank reconciliation, and VAT returns as standard. Year-end accounts, corporation tax, and additional services such as payroll or management accounts are discussed upfront and factored into the fixed fee where applicable. A free quote is available with no obligation.

My Xero is quite messy — months behind and probably miscategorised. Is that a problem?+

It is a common situation. Most clients who come to us mid-year or after a period of neglect have books in some state of disarray. Catch-up bookkeeping is handled as a one-off piece of work, priced separately and agreed upfront, before the ongoing monthly service begins. You will know exactly what it costs before any work starts.

Is there a minimum contract or lock-in period?+

There is no long-term contract. Services run on a rolling monthly basis and either party can end the arrangement with reasonable notice. If you leave, your Xero data remains yours and is exported in a clean, usable format. The goal is that you stay because the service is worth it, not because there is paperwork trapping you.

Can Xero handle Making Tax Digital for VAT, and will you manage that for me?+

Yes. Xero is MTD-compatible and HMRC-recognised for digital VAT submission. VAT returns are submitted directly through Xero as part of the standard service, so there is no separate filing step and no risk of a non-compliant submission. If your turnover is approaching the VAT registration threshold, that is monitored proactively so you are not caught out.

Will I actually be able to see my tax position during the year, not just at year end?+

That is one of the main reasons to keep Xero current rather than leaving it until April. With monthly bookkeeping, your estimated corporation tax or income tax liability is visible throughout the year — not as a shock in January or after your accountant files. Planning your cash flow around a known figure is considerably easier than discovering it retrospectively.
