We assess what you need

Once you confirm, we register with HMRC on your behalf if needed, transfer any existing payroll history, and take over all submissions from the next pay period. You receive payslips to forward to staff and a summary of what has been filed.

Do you handle CIS payroll for contractors and subcontractors?+

Yes. CIS payroll is a regular part of what we do for trades and construction businesses. That includes verifying subcontractors with HMRC, applying the correct deduction rate, issuing deduction statements, and filing the monthly CIS return on time. If you are both a contractor and a subcontractor yourself, the offsetting is handled correctly too.

What does payroll cost and what is included?+

Pricing is fixed monthly and based on the number of employees and pay frequency. The fee covers payroll processing, payslip preparation, RTI submission, and basic auto-enrolment administration. CIS returns are either included or priced separately depending on complexity. You will have a clear figure before anything starts — no hourly rates, no surprises at year-end.

My payroll records are a bit of a mess — is that a problem?+

It is a common situation, particularly when businesses have been managing payroll themselves or using a provider that was not especially thorough. We will review what exists, identify any gaps or errors, and reconstruct records where needed before taking over ongoing processing. There may be a one-off catch-up cost depending on how much ground needs covering, which we will confirm in advance.

Am I locked into a long-term contract?+

No. There is no long-term commitment required. We ask for reasonable notice — typically one month — so there is time to transfer records cleanly and ensure HMRC is notified of any agent changes. You will leave with complete payroll records in a format any provider can pick up.

Can you set up auto-enrolment from scratch if we haven’t done it yet?+

Yes. If you have employees who should have been enrolled but have not been, that needs to be resolved carefully to avoid a compliance notice from The Pensions Regulator. We can assess your duties, select an appropriate pension scheme if you do not have one, enrol eligible employees, and handle ongoing administration from that point. It is a manageable process once started.

How should I be paying myself as a director to keep tax down?+
