Sound familiar?
Selling online. Still not sure where the money goes.
Ecommerce looks straightforward until the books need doing. Platform fees, refunds, multiple sales channels, and settlement reports that never quite match the bank. VAT thresholds creep up unnoticed. Year-end arrives and nobody can explain the numbers. Most general accountants are not set up for any of this.
- ✕ Hours lost reconciling marketplace payouts against bank statements
- ✕ VAT registration crept up without warning, penalties already accumulating
- ✕ No idea what the actual profit is until the accountant files at year-end
What sorted looks like
An ecommerce account specialist who already understands how your platforms pay out, charge fees, and report sales. You stop explaining how Shopify or Amazon works and start getting useful answers.
- ✓ Platform payouts reconciled monthly — no year-end scramble through settlement reports
- ✓ VAT threshold tracked throughout the year — registration handled before it becomes a problem
- ✓ Management accounts updated regularly so you know your profit position now, not in April
- ✓ Fixed monthly fee — no surprise invoices, no billable calls for a quick question
What ecommerce clients say about working with us

Hasan at Edward Harris has been superb for us. He has organised our books, compiled documentation for HMRC and been proactive with advice. Best accountant I have used.
Everything included in your monthly fee

Included as standardVAT, MTD and Tax Returns
VAT returns are prepared and filed on time under Making Tax Digital, with your threshold monitored throughout the year. Your self assessment or corporation tax return is handled with full visibility of what you owe and when. You will not open a letter from HMRC that surprises you.
Included as standardTax Planning and Advisory
Year-round proactive advice means tax planning happens before the year closes, not after. Management accounts give you a clear view of profit, cash flow, and where the business is heading. The right structure, the right allowances, applied at the right time.

Why ecommerce sellers choose us over a general accountant
Most accountants can file a tax return. Fewer understand how Shopify settlements work, why Amazon reserve funds sit outside your P&L, or how to handle inventory in cloud accounting without making a mess of it.
No explaining how ecommerce works
Platform fees, referral charges, settlement timing, and multi-channel reconciliation are already understood before your first call. You will not spend twenty minutes explaining how Shopify pays out or why your Amazon balance never matches the bank. That context is already in the room.
Your tax bill visible months ahead
Proactive year-round support means corporation tax and self assessment estimates are updated as the year progresses. You will know roughly what you owe long before the deadline arrives, which means no scramble, no surprises, and enough time to plan properly if the number needs managing.
Questions answered the day you ask
Same-day replies to contact form enquiries and quick turnaround by phone and email. Clients also use WhatsApp for day-to-day queries. If a VAT question comes up mid-month or you are unsure whether to register before crossing the threshold, you get an answer while it still matters.
Up and running in four straightforward steps
Most new clients are fully onboarded within a week. The process is designed to be as light as possible on your time.

Free initial conversation
We discuss your ecommerce setup — which platforms you sell on, where your bookkeeping currently stands, and what you need. You leave the call knowing exactly what the service covers, what it costs, and what happens next.
We handle the transition
If you are switching from another accountant, we manage the handover. If your books are behind, we assess what catch-up work is needed and quote clearly before starting. You do not need to prepare anything in advance.
Your books are current, your tax is visible
From the first full month, your accounts are reconciled, your VAT is tracked, and your tax position is updated. You know where the business stands without having to ask. Which is, frankly, how it should always have been.
“Excellent service! Hasan took over and sorted out my accounts with a swift and hassle free service. I would highly recommend for your accounting needs.”
Things ecommerce sellers usually ask us
Do you actually understand how ecommerce platforms pay out, charge fees, and report sales?
Yes. Settlement reports, platform fees, referral charges, reserve funds, and multi-channel reconciliation are part of the day-to-day work here, not an occasional edge case. You will not need to explain how Shopify or Amazon calculates a payout before getting a useful answer. That context is already understood.
What does it cost and what is included?
Pricing is a fixed monthly fee agreed upfront, based on your turnover, the number of sales channels you operate, and the services you need. There are no additional charges for VAT returns, year-end accounts, or phone calls. The exact fee is discussed in your free initial conversation once we understand your setup.
My books are behind and I am not sure what state they are in — is that a problem?
It is not uncommon. Most clients who switch arrive with bookkeeping that is at least partially out of date. We assess the catch-up work needed and provide a clear fixed cost for it before starting. Once that is done, the monthly service keeps everything current going forward.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. There is no lock-in. If the arrangement is not working, you give notice and leave with your books in order and nothing outstanding. The aim is to make the service good enough that the question does not arise, but the option is always there.
I sell across multiple platforms — Shopify, Amazon, and Etsy. Can you handle all of them?
Yes. Multi-channel ecommerce is handled routinely, including reconciling payouts from different platforms into a single set of books. Each channel has its own fee structure and reporting format, and those differences are accounted for correctly rather than lumped together and hoped for the best.
How far ahead will I know what my tax bill is likely to be?
On advisory plans, management accounts are updated regularly and corporation tax or self assessment estimates are revised throughout the year. Most clients have a working estimate of their tax liability several months before the filing deadline. That lead time is useful — it allows for planning rather than just paying whatever arrives.
Stop guessing what your numbers mean. Let us sort it.
A free initial conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. You leave knowing what the service covers, what it costs, and whether it is a good fit for your ecommerce business.
