Partnership Accounts Manchester

Partnership Accounts Manchester

Your partnership accounts, handled properly.

Running a partnership means your accounts touch multiple tax returns — the SA800, each partner’s Self Assessment, profit splits, drawings. When those are not aligned, the numbers get messy and someone ends up with a surprise tax bill. Edward Harris keeps all of it in order: fixed monthly fee, ACCA-qualified, same-day replies.

  • SA800 partnership return filed accurately and on time
  • Each partner’s Self Assessment prepared and cross-checked
  • Profit allocation and drawings tracked clearly throughout the year
  • No year-end scramble — books current and reconciled every month

Initial conversations are free and without pressure. If it is not the right fit, you leave with a clearer picture of your partnership accounts and nothing owed.

Sound familiar?

Not sure who owes what, or when?

Partnership accounting involves more moving parts than most business owners expect. There is the SA800 to file, profit shares to calculate, individual tax positions to reconcile, and drawings to track across multiple partners. When the books are not current, those figures become difficult to trust — and each partner ends up guessing their tax liability until it is too late to plan around it.

  • ✕ Year-end arrives before anyone has reconciled the partnership books
  • ✕ Partners unclear on their individual tax bills until the last minute
  • ✕ Profit splits and drawings not tracked clearly between filing dates

What a sorted partnership looks like

Clean books, aligned returns, and every partner knowing their position well before any deadline. No last-minute scramble, no surprises from HMRC, and no confusion over who drew what.

  • ✓ Books reconciled monthly — year-end is a formality, not a panic
  • ✓ Each partner knows their likely tax bill months before it falls due
  • ✓ Profit allocation and drawings documented clearly and consistently
  • ✓ Fixed monthly fee — no surprise invoices at year-end

Why Edward Harris

What makes this different from the usual accountant

Most accountants file what they need to file and move on. The approach here is different — proactive contact, plain-English explanations, and making sure you actually understand your numbers.

🔍

All Returns Aligned, Not Separate

The SA800 and each partner’s Self Assessment are prepared together, cross-checked against each other. Discrepancies are caught before submission, not flagged by HMRC afterwards. That is the level of care that prevents the letters you do not want to receive.

📅

No Year-End Scramble

Monthly bookkeeping means the partnership books are never more than a few weeks behind. Year-end becomes a straightforward process, not a four-week panic to reconstruct twelve months of transactions. Deadlines are met because the work is already done.

💬

Plain English, No Jargon

Partnership taxation involves terms — profit allocation, basis periods, overlap relief — that most accountants do not bother explaining. Here, you understand what is happening and why before anything is filed. Questions are answered the same day, and you are never made to feel awkward for asking.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

Switching accountants or starting fresh takes less effort than most business owners expect. Here is how it works.

1

Get in touch

Call 0161 706 1523, email info@edwardharris.co.uk, or use the contact form. A same-day reply is standard. The initial conversation is free and without pressure — no commitment required.

2

Free initial conversation

Hasan will ask about your partnership structure, how many partners, your current bookkeeping situation, and what you need covered. You will leave the call with a clear picture of what is involved and a fixed-fee quote.

3

We take it from here

Onboarding is handled with minimal disruption. If books need catching up, that is dealt with. If you are switching from another accountant, the handover is managed directly. You do not need to chase anything.

4

Your accounts, under control

Monthly bookkeeping keeps everything current. Returns are filed ahead of deadlines. Each partner knows their tax position well in advance. Accounting is off your plate — which is, frankly, the way it should be.

Questions

Things people usually ask before getting started

Do you handle both the SA800 partnership return and each partner’s individual Self Assessment?+

Yes — both are prepared together, not in isolation. The profit allocation figures in the SA800 feed directly into each partner’s Self Assessment, so the numbers are consistent and cross-checked before anything is submitted to HMRC. That alignment is where errors typically occur when returns are prepared separately.

What does partnership accounting cost, and what is included?+

Pricing is fixed monthly and depends on the number of partners, the volume of transactions, and whether bookkeeping is included. The fee covers the SA800, individual Self Assessments for each partner, and year-round support. There are no per-call charges and no surprise invoices at year-end. A fixed quote is provided at the initial conversation.

Our partnership books are behind — can you still help?+

Yes. Catching up on historical bookkeeping is a standard part of onboarding for many clients. The cost of bringing books up to date is quoted separately and agreed upfront, so there are no unexpected charges. Once current, the ongoing monthly service keeps them that way.

Is there a long-term contract, or can we leave if it is not working?+

There is no long-term lock-in. If the arrangement is not working, you give reasonable notice and your records are handed over cleanly to whoever takes over. The aim is to make leaving straightforward — though in practice, most clients stay because the service is worth keeping.

We have a mix of active and sleeping partners — does that affect how the accounts are handled?+

It does affect how profit shares and drawings are allocated, and those distinctions need to be reflected correctly in both the SA800 and each partner’s Self Assessment. The partnership agreement is reviewed at the outset to make sure the accounting matches the agreed structure — including any preferential shares, interest on capital, or variable splits.

Can you advise on profit-sharing arrangements and what they mean for each partner’s tax position?+

Yes. How profits are split between partners directly affects each person’s Income Tax liability, Class 4 National Insurance, and any payments on account. Those implications are explained in plain English before decisions are made, not after the return has been filed. If an arrangement is costing more tax than it needs to, that conversation happens proactively.
