We discuss your payroll setup — number of employees, pay frequency, whether CIS applies, and any pension obligations. You ask questions. We answer them plainly. Nothing is committed at this stage.
We take care of the setup
Once you decide to proceed, we gather the employee and payroll information we need. Existing PAYE schemes are transferred over. If your books are in some state of disarray, we sort that too.

Each pay period, your payroll is processed, payslips are issued, and RTI is filed. You receive confirmation it is done. Your employees are paid correctly, HMRC has what it needs, and the task is off your list for good.

Do you handle CIS payroll as well as standard PAYE payroll?
Yes. Construction Industry Scheme payroll is part of the service — CIS deductions are applied at the correct rate for each subcontractor, monthly returns are filed with HMRC, and subcontractor payment and deduction statements are issued. If your business employs both PAYE staff and CIS subcontractors, both are managed together.
What does payroll service cost and what is included?
Pricing is fixed monthly and agreed upfront based on your number of employees and pay frequency. There are no per-payslip charges or surprise add-ons. The fee covers payroll processing, RTI submissions, payslip preparation, and pension contribution calculations. Contact us for a quote specific to your setup.
We currently run our own payroll — how difficult is it to switch?
Not difficult. We take over your existing PAYE scheme and pick up from where you are. If there are gaps or errors in previous payroll records, we identify them and deal with them. Most businesses are fully transferred and processing within their first pay period.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. There is no minimum term and no lock-in period. If you decide Edward Harris is not the right fit, you leave with your payroll records in good order and nothing owed beyond the current month. The aim is that you stay because the service is worth it, not because leaving is complicated.
Can you manage auto-enrolment and pension submissions as well?
Yes. Auto-enrolment eligibility is assessed each pay period, contributions are calculated for employer and employee, and submissions are made to your pension provider. Declaration of compliance and re-enrolment obligations are also handled when they fall due.
How far in advance will I know what my employer NI and payroll costs are?
Once your payroll is set up with us, you will receive a summary each pay period before anything is filed — so you can see gross pay, employer NI, pension contributions, and net payments before the money leaves the account. No end-of-month surprises.
